What is a hairpin motor?

A hairpin motor is an advanced type of electric motor where the stator windings are made of pre-formed, rectangular copper strips shaped like hairpins. These "hairpins" are inserted into the stator slots and their ends are laser-welded together to form a complete winding. This modern construction replaces the traditional method of using multiple thin, round wires.
